Payspan Announces Adil Karam as Vice President of Information Security and Compliance
Atlanta, GA – February 11, 2020 – Payspan, a leading provider of automated payment and reimbursement solutions for health plans and providers, announced today that it has named Adil Karam as the company’s new Vice President of Information Security and Compliance. Karam brings 15 years of IT and security experience at Fortune 500 and smaller firms.
A certified information security leader, he offers a proven track record of hands-on progressive experience in financial services, insurance, energy and resources, technology, healthcare and hospitality. He has managed global teams of 50+ employees and information security budgets upwards of $25 million while serving in security leadership positions at a variety of firms, including COR Partners, Ascension Technologies, Glacial Energy and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
Karam has earned a number of security industry certifications, including: Certified Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) and Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP).
Karam will provide overall direction and guidance on the definition of Payspan’s current security state and drive a security strategy and road-map against Industry best standards and regulations. This includes ISO27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST-800-53, HITRUST, HIPAA, SOC1, SOC2, PCI-DSS, and CCPA for compliance, risk, audit and security functions towards reducing risk related to IT to acceptable residual levels.
